The competition for outstanding design and user orientation:
The UX Design Awards honoured the Kaba 360° City app for its holistic design which does not orientate itself according to classical product categories, but rather places humans and the overall user experience at its centre.
How can a product or service offer a positive user experience?
Which needs and expectations will future users have and what will provide them enjoyment?
The competition takes place annually and is organised by the International Design Centre Berlin (IDZ).
The judges nominate 40 product solutions which distinguish themselves based on a user-oriented design. The nominees can be viewed during a special exhibition at the IFA 2016.
What determines the judges’ decision includes:
- Emotional and cognitive aspects
- Intelligibility (visual depiction, user orientation, information architecture)
- Universality, functionality and fault tolerance
- Formal and visual quality as well as suitable relation between form and function
- Setting new standards in a product class
